Affinity Designer/Photo

Any chance of making a version of Fontself for Affinity Designer/Photo. I’m sure it would be very popular.

I hope the dev team tackles that, will be one of the best and huge changes and improvements. As far as I read, the dev team mentioned that Adobe Illustrator has a… “Development Kit” (?not sure of the right term, I forgot) while Affinity Designer/Photo has a completelly different …“Development Kit”, so it means a lot of extra work, from zero.

I came here looking to post the same thing. I have Fontself for Adobe Illustrator, but I no longer want to deal with that company. I have Affinity Designer 2 now.

Does anyone know what we can do, to bring it up to the developer of Fontself?

I’d love to see a stand-alone version of Fontself that connects to vector design apps instead of being tied to Adobe products. Adobe has really done the design community a huge disservice with all of their AI and EULA shenanigans and I hope it doesn’t negatively affect developers like Fontself. I used Adobe products since the 90s but I can’t stand by while they ruin everything we use their tools to make, so I switched to Affinity and Davinci products. I love Fontself, but won’t sell my soul to Adobe to use it.

Yes, Agree. I’m moving away from Adobe. Using Affinity. The problem with Affinity as of early 2025 is that it still does not have a good autotrace tool to vectorize drawings. So @TankFu is spot on in that regard.
I guess Fontself working with Affinity would be great for the convert to font portion — assuming you’ve already got vector art ready to plug and play.
