Alternate glyphs suggestion

I like how when I modify a glyph and then add it to Fontself, it tells me a glyph already exists and gives me the option to create an alternate glyph. That’s ok, but what I really want to do is make it the primary glyph, and convert the old one into an alternate. It seems like this would be a more natural workflow; as I’m drawing letters, it’s hard to see what tweaks they need until they’re part of the font.

I would also like this, for instance if you decide that you want the 3rd alternative to be the primary glyph you have to delete all of them, then add them again in the new order, then kern them all again.

Hello,
both should work by clever renaming.

Let’s say, you have an existing “a” and a new one (allready unnamed).
Rename the old one to a name, that doesn’t exist in yout font, for example the “π”.

Then name the new charcter to “a”.
After this the “π” can be renamed to “a”.
You will be asked if replace or alternate …

With three different characters it will be basically the same, but a little more complex
