Change color for watercolor font

I’m creating a font based on watercolor letters. Letters are black on a transparent background. I saw some authors did it. I would like to be able to change the color of the letters in the Photoshop, how can I do it? My color does not change(((

So bitmap fonts have fixed colors, you cannot change it after creation, as each letter is an image. You can however apply Adjustment Layers like Hue/Saturation to recolor text layers.

In photoshop just select blending options on your layer and add a colour overlay layer, works a treat. In illustrator you have to rasterise the final type and add a colour adjustment to get same effect as photoshop.
