Font Infos Version

Hi there, quick request: Is it possible to put a “Version”-Field into the Font Infos?

I think there is enough space for it :smiley: and I think it would be nice to have.

So the version field is automatically generated and can’t be customized right now.
If you want to have a look at it check https://fontdrop.info

Just curious, could you tell me more about what you want to with that field? (Do you have an example?)

Yes of course: We usually making fonts with Glyphs. And when we do the customers changes, we change the version number. Its only an organization thing. Its also good to see, which one is activated.

But why do fontself automatically generate the versions?

We auto generate it to simplify the creation process.
Some people don’t really know what it is or will forget to update it so we do it in the background :slight_smile:
