Fontself automatically fills holes?

Hi,

Just download fontself to use with illustrator and I’m trying to get a simple font going as a test but it doesn’t seem to recognise the holes in the letters and automatically fills them? Am I doing something wrong? Is there an option to turn this off? Any help would be appreciated…

You can check the following:

  • First that there is no white shape instead of cutouts (Cmd+Shift+D to view background transparency)
  • Remove any shape with no fill and no stroke colors
  • Try using Object > Flatten Transparency or PathFinder > Unite to clean up the shapes (there’s an old AI but with compound shapes

Looks like it was an issue with pathfinder. I used Flatten transparency on the glyphs and it seemed to fix the issue. Thanks!
