Illustrator showing a black background for bitmap fonts

Hi! I just created a bitmap font on photoshop and it’s working fine there, but if I try to use in illustrator, the letters appear with a black background. Am I doing something wrong or is an Illustrator bug?

Are you in CMYK document mode? If so, could you try in RGB, there’s a related issue: https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447-illustrator-bugs/suggestions/34037734-glyph-rendering-bug-with-bitmap-ot-svg-fonts
