Lowercase not sitting as it should

I have added guidelines in Illustrator. So when i drag all lowercase over to lowercase section and drop the letters in. all of the letters are sitting on the baseline and a bit below the baseline. the likes of the “h“ is floating above the baseline. The “o,g,“ and those curved bottom letters are all sitting on the baseline.

see the pictures added. Ill add more if needed.

this is the panel view. tell if i need to change or alter. Or what i am doing wrong. tHE

This shows my guides and the preview of the “a“ sitting on the baseline instead of being a bit below. Because of the style of the letter it is. So all the characters are sitting on the baseline.

Did you select the guide along with the shapes when importing them into the extension?

This is currently required to detect the related guides: Set font metrics with Illustrator guides | Fontself Maker Help Center

How do you select the guides and what needs dragged into the input window for fontself? Is it via the layers panel or is it in the page view? The weblink is informative but doesnt say about how to selected guides.

Use Illustrator’s selection tool to pick both the vector shapes and the guides, right from the document’s view.

see what i mean its all up in the air. can you post a picture of the selection tool?

The select tool is the first one in the Illustrator toolbar, you must reselect all glyphs AND the guides BEFORE importing the glyphs:

The issue was the guides where locked. and since i dont illustrator. well not that well. it was a lucky find. and then what you said came true.
