Some time ago I was asked why Fontself does not have the option to make letters bolder or lighter. My answer: That is not Fontself’s job, but that of the font designer.
Nevertheless, I thought it was a good idea, because a way to make letters fatter in Illustrator would save a lot of time.
Here is my solution: A Javascript for download with explanation in English and German. The script is free, but I would appreciate a small donation (link in the script in line 42) from those who save a lot of time when creating their fonts.
