# Photoshop CC 2019 crashing on startup after installing Fontself

I am a new Fontself user, having just purchased it earlier this morning. After installing it, I have been completely blocked from launching Photoshop CC 2019, which is crashing on startup. I found a log that seems to indicate this is due to Fontself being unable to open a particular file. Here’s the log excerpt:

Date: 2019-07-30T18:08:49.995Z

Hello from com.fontself.maker.v2.photoshop.generate version 1.1.1

[info:com.fontself.maker.v2.photoshop.generate 11:08:50.014 C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CC\Generator\com.fontself.maker.v2.photoshop.generate\main.js:1:2504] Can’t read/find Fontself profile file C:\Users\Jared\AppData\Roaming\Fontself\Photoshop.user { Error: ENOENT: no such file or directory, open ‘C:\Users\Jared\AppData\Roaming\Fontself\Photoshop.user’
at Object.fs.openSync (fs.js:646:18)
at _combinedTickCallback (internal/process/next_tick.js:131:7)
at process._tickCallback (internal/process/next_tick.js:180:9)
errno: -4058,
code: ‘ENOENT’,
syscall: ‘open’,
path: ‘C:\Users\Jared\AppData\Roaming\Fontself\Photoshop\.user’ }

Is this a known issue? What is the workaround/fix? I tried to uninstall/reinstall Fontself but there isn’t an entry in Programs and Features for it and I can’t find any information on how to uninstall.

Rebooting, though unpleasant while in the middle of a project, fixed this issue.

Thank you @Jared for posting what worked for you!

Indeed this is normally not needed but it can help sometimes.
Maybe the engineers at Adobe know more about that but I suspect that bugs like that are too rare for them to be important to fix
