When holding shift, lower-case letters appear and not my alternate case font

Hello,

I made a font with German letters, alternate letters (umlauts - Ä, Ö, Ü & ä, ö, ü) and the special character the “Eszett” ( ß ). I can type fine both lower and upper-case but when I hold shift it flips the case. I tried Alt + (letter) but that did not do anything but open a menu in Illustrator 2021 that did not pertain to the font.

P.S. the alternate for an upper-case ‘B’ is the Eszett but that does not happen.

Help please!

Hello, I’m not quite sure what you mean, but if yor’re asking for the “ẞ” (uppercase ß), the’s no key for it. You will have to copy-and-paste it from some source.

there is a unicode for the uppercase ß (U+1E9E ẞ LATIN CAPITAL LETTER SHARP S), see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capital_ẞ
you can enter the unicode on the object in illustrator or direct in fontself maker
