Javascript for Illustrator: Font-Outline-with-Names.jsx for font designers
The menu command Font > Outline converts the letters of the selected text into path objects. Unfortunately, Illustrator “forgets” the names of the letters. This can be very annoying if you want to add to or change a character set (OFL). To add the names of a hundred or more characters by hand takes a lot of time and is prone to errors. However, the Javascript “Font-Outline-with-Names” takes over this annoying task for you.
